To give all of ‘tous’ who are in the spirit of Milwaukee’s Bastille Days this weekend an even more dreamy experience, our song of the day features a big-band-style version of the Edith Piaf-famed “La Vie En Rose”, compliments of the legendary Louis Armstrong, recorded in Belgium in 1959. Armstrong is backed by his band, The All-Stars, featuring Trummy Young, Peanuts Hucko, Billy Kyle, Danny Barcelona and Mort Herbert. Absorb even more big band goodness this Sunday at Bastille Days with WMSE’s big band leader, DJ Dewey Gill, as he does a live broadcast from the festival at the Beaux Arts stage from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
