Today, WMSE is giving you a double whammy of live music straight from the WMSE studios. Kicking off with the energetic and soulful hip hop of Milwaukee’s own Fresh Cut Collective at 2 p.m., the group visits Dori’s Girlina Show to give everyone a preview of their new material from their recently recorded second album, Re-Frame (Part One). FCC releases their new album at the Miramar Theatre on Friday, March 30 at 9 p.m., alongside Toussaint Morrison, Safari Al and DJ Tarik the Architect.
Next up at 4 p.m., Steel Wheels will treat listeners to a live, acoustic in-studio performance, previewing their gig at the Tonic Tavern with Panalure later tonight. The quartet plays tunes brimming with old-timey appeal, harmonizing like nobody’s business amidst songs filled with plenty of banjo, mandolin, fiddle and the like. Listen for yourself in the video, below, and tune into WMSE on Tom Wanderer’s show to hear a one-of-a-kind, acoustic performance from these boys from Virginia.
