Riding the sonic wave with Milwaukee’s Catacombz has never been more easy than with the band’s latest, Mother Tongue 2. Bumping up their membership two more and taking off on a fifty minute journey of intricate percussion, noodly guitar linesĀ and even vocoded vocals, Catacombz still retains their penchant for spiky and brash psych-kraut, but riffs on the more vaporous moments, sliding from one song to the next in waves of noise and extended, connected beats. More and more Trans Am than Can, the latest from the band is a nice listen for these hazy final days of summer. Listen in on three tracks available via Bandcamp and catch the songs live at Linnemans for the official Mother Tongue 2 release with Soup Moat and Outside, kicking off a nearly two-week tour through the Midwest and out East.
