With plenty of crushing attitude, Milwaukee’s Mr. Deagun Jones has a hold on a hefty blues and funk sound, firing it up with plenty of rock influences. Formed in 2006, the quartet relies on the muscular vocals of Adam Tremel to shake it’s sound and push its already-energetic songs forward even more. The band is getting set to release a new collection of songs entitled Cheat Steal and Lie on Junkyard Creeps records. Mr. Deagun Jones modernizes classic rock sounds, but still calls on Clapton, ZZ Top and Aerosmith as obvious influences. Still not sure how to classify ’em? Let’s just say Mr. Deagun Jones is an outfit that would sound right at home in both pool halls and dive bars, alike. Fortunately, listeners don’t have to go any further than the radio to catch a tune. Listen to tonight’s Local/Live at 8 p.m. on 91.7 FM or stream online at WMSE.org. Missed out?
