Be sure to tune into 91.7 FM WMSE this evening at 6 p.m. for the electrified jazz of Madison’s Gadjo Players. Influenced by the pros — Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Charles, Lloyd, Bill Evans, Duke Ellington, etc. with a little Frank Zappa thrown in for good measure — the Gadjo Players have perfected the styles of gypsy swing, latin, bebop and its musical counterparts since 2005, playing mainly in Wisconsin (The Overture Center and High Noon Saloon, etc.) and debuting their first release in 2007 (Between Two Waters). Cory Dinkle (guitar), Nate Hess (mandolin), Ben Johnson (bass) and Matt Krueger (percussion) will be playing a live set of both standards and originals over the WMSE airwaves. Tune in again, later, at 9 p.m. for the intense and defined metal compositions of Milwaukee’s Northless [Halo of Flies Records] on Team Metal [9 p.m. – 12 a.m.]. Epic radio at it’s best!
