Tune into WMSE’s Local/Live tonight at 8 p.m. to hear new music from Milwaukee’s Purple Tongue, a rock trio with a penchant for poly-rhythmic compositions that play big on dynamics. Formed recently by locals Carlos Garcia, Jesus Nanez and Jair Sanchez, Purple Tongue pulls their influences from the angular and bass-driven music of early sounds of The Cure to the driving power of Swervedriver and modern bands such as Interpol, weaving dance-y percussion into their songs for added momentum. The band plays for the Highbury Pub’s World Rock Sessions this Saturday, November 13th. Tune into 91.7 FM on your radio dial or stream online tonight at 8 p.m. to catch music by Purple Tongue. Missed out? Catch the performance in the WMSE archives.
