WMSE Song of the Day (Tune In Turn Up): Maritime “Paraphernalia”

Although slated for an April 5th release on Dangerbird Records, Milwaukee’s Maritime are plenty busy prepping their fans with the sweet and quick-paced single “Paraphernalia”, where the quartet’s layered guitar chords act as percussion just as much as Dan Didier’s energy-inspired beats. The band is ready to showcase more forthcoming material from Human Hearts at this year’s SXSW, playing on Friday, March 18th at both showcases for The Onion and Dangerbird.

And with a Milwaukee release show date set for Saturday, April 9th at Turner Hall, Maritime will debut those new songs to their hometown, alongside Testa Rosa and Sat. Nite Duets. WMSE is already hearing lots of good things about it (here and here) — we’re excited to say the least! To add a wee bit of fuel to our anticipation, Maritime recently debuted an exclusive video (click the link) for “Paraphernalia” for, featuring footage from one very memorable evening in Milwaukee history — the great blizzard of 2011! Here’s hoping no frostbite was involved in the filming of that…
