Tuesday, March 15:
Linneman’s Riverwest Inn [1001 E. Locust]
Jonathan Burks w/ Trapper Schoepp & the Shades
9pm, 21+, FREE
It’s Day Two of WMSE’s 30th Anniversary celebration week, and we couldn’t be more pumped. To be honest, we’re all riding on the insane energy that Call Me Lightning and Holy Sh*t! brought to Club Garibaldi’s last night, but don’t expect this energy to dissipate on day two. No way. Folky, twang-rock has just as much energy, it just comes in from a different angle. A sparkly, but down and dirty angle. Trapper Schoepp & the Shades have gotten a lot attention for their tightly-harmonied and gussied up, yet simply-styled album, Lived and Moved. Tonight, the band opens for a WMSE favorite, Jonathan Burks, who tells heartfelt tales of living the hard, but bittersweet life, in the city he loves: Milwaukee. Get a double-dose of great local Americana and help WMSE celebrate a couple of the musicians who make our local music scene stellar. Happy birthday to us!
