As a longtime listener of WMSE, bts.wrkng has always been a favorite of mine. With Monday nights, 9 p.m. – 12 a.m. headed by John Goelzer, I am never disappointed. Goelzer encompasses a variety of electronic music ranging from IDM to techno to ambient, and he does so in a way that weaves in and out of genres to create set lists that transcend moods, thoughts and educes emotions. Lucky for me (and you), since 2005, Goelzer has been a part of Signaldrift with Milwaukee’s Franz Buchholtz. The duo’s latest album, Two Agents (Audraglint), is well-crafted with solid beats that are hard-hitting just when you want them to be. Want to experience Signaldrift firsthand? Be sure to make it out to Club Garibaldi’s [2501 S. Superior] on Thursday April 28th at 9 p.m., for MELT’s next installment of electronic and experimental music. Happy pledging!
