Wednesday, April 27th
Noon: Melissa – Melissa + Rock and Roll + Milwaukee = “Mel-ROCK-ee,” meaning Melissa will be playing all songs with “rock” in the song title.
3 p.m.: Blues Drive with Jeff Joy – Jeff is actually so ambitious that he’s going with three, one-hour themes instead of one, three-hour theme. Hour One: West Side Chicago, Hour Two: Delta Blues, Hour Three: his picks of best of the last year in blues.
6 p.m.: Rich Mars – This edition of the City Rock Showgram will take many forms as well. First is music from “The eve of the ’80s” — some really cool music from the late ’70s that started the whole scene that gave birth to WMSE. Second will be segments of the last night of broadcasting on the late, great WZMF in March 1979. And finally, on the ‘80s at 8:30 segment, Rich will share his top two or three “desert island discs” of the ‘80s, with multiple tracks from each.
Thursday, April 28th:
Midnight: Jon Blick – As we slide from one day to the next, Overnight Sensations is going to take you on a 3-hour tour of T-Bone Burnette: Solo, sideman, producer.
6 a.m.: Drew – Poundcake Punk goes “Fist Pumps and Broken Ear Drums” – three hours of live punk songs.
9 a.m.: Shopkeeper Ken – You may have heard past “Birds” themed Five and Dime shows — all songs about birds or that have bird sounds or have birds in the title…if it has anything do with birds, Ken might just play it.
