An album like this usually passes by my radar until someone recommends it to me. It’s not danceable and there are no girls in the band. (As I type this out, I realize how lame I sound right now…) Lucky for me, my pal Terrance brought it with us to Coachella in April. As we relaxed during the second morning on our hotel’s balcony sipping coffee, this second album from Panda Bear, aka Noah Lennox from Animal Collective fame, Tomboy quickly became the soundtrack to our lazy morning. The washed out guitars, whirling synthesizers and beautiful harmonies hooked me right away. With the California sun shining, warm desert breeze blowing and an amazing view of the Palm Desert Mountains, I found a new favorite album.
