Portland, Oregon’s Nurses have an aptly-titled song in “Fever Dreams”, the newest single from the trio’s forthcoming album Dracula on Dead Oceans Records. Their music is more akin to the unsettling sentiment that travels alongside a visit to the doctor, it’s fluorescent-tinged tones fascinating, nonetheless. Comprised of Aaron Chapman (vocals, guitars, keys), John Bowers (keys, vocals) and James Mitchell (percussion and visuals), the band joined their current label in 2009 for the release of their acclaimed Apple’s Acre, borne out of the growth of like-minded psych pop groups such as Animal Collective and Deerhunter. “[Nurses] dipped their fingers into honey-colored puddles of reverb and drew golden prisms all over the walls [for “Fever Dreams”] claims yvynyl.
