Blessed Feathers, the Wisconsin trio of Donivan Berube, Jacquelyn Beaupre` and Jordan Knowles take their inspiration from the kettled forests of southeastern Wisconsin, namely, their hometown of West Bend, composing sparse but full songs that sound like a bonfire in the middle of a cathedral. Creating music with whatever instruments may be at their disposal, be it a guitar, banjo, tambourine or accordion, Blessed Feathers’ songs are rooted in indie folk, but dig deeper to create a world of their own, beautiful and unnerving. The band has a brand new album, From the Mouths of the Middle Class, out on local Listening Party Records. Hear some songs from that album tonight at 8 p.m. on WMSE’s Local/Live. Tune in at 91.7 FM or stream live, or in the archives at WMSE.org.
