WMSE Song of the Day (Tune In Turn Up) Crooked Fingers “Typhoon”

A Monday afternoon spent with WMSE DJ Faux Eyes can’t possibly pass without hearing solid bands that have been kicking it around for ages who still manage to create brilliant releases, so we expect the new album by Crooked Fingers to get played quite often on Mondays from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. to come, especially warranting that The Cactus Club plans on hosting the band next month for a tour surrounding Breaks in the Armor [Merge Records].  Spin says, “Crooked Fingers has been Eric Bachmann’s primary band for the past decade, but before that, he fronted Archers of Loaf, the seminal college rock act that sprung from Chapel Hill, North Carolina’s vaunted ’90s indie rock scene. And while Bachmann made news this year by reuniting Archers in January, then taking them out on the road at festivals like Sasquatch, he was holding an ace the whole time: Breaks in the Armor, a new, superb Crooked Fingers album.” Damn.
