Sometimes the opening act of a show will steal the thunder, unsuspectingly and we think that there’s a good chance that this might happen tonight at the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah show tonight at Turner Hall. CYHSY’s opener, Waters, is a tightly wound guitar string, a match to a bag of firecrackers and a wind to the element of their own namesake. Energetic, sharp and poised, the band’s debut album Out in the Light [TBD Records] has got renewal in its veins, set on the same sights paralleling lead singer/guitarist Van Pierszalowski’s up and down, cathartic lifestyle after the demise of his former band, Port O’Brien. Written with the inspiration of Alaska, Norway, California, New York and Texas leading the way, Out in the Light (produced by John Congleton) is an audio affirmation to new starts.
Tune into 91.7 FM WMSE today at around 2:15 p.m. for an acoustic set from Pierszalowski and co. before they take on Turner’s stage for an 8 p.m., all-ages show tonight. Hit up WMSE.org to stream live or in the archives or simply tune into 91.7 FM.
