New Music From A Place to Bury Strangers

If this promo photo of New York post-punk trio A Place To Bury Strangers belies any visible info, it is undoubtedly that this band. is. loud. Ear-bleedingly so. Now. Banish all unpleasant associations with ear-splitting sound levels and take a few moments to bask in its potential power (and absolute pleasantness) when paired so tunefully with beautiful and haunting melody (take a listen to “Mind Control”, below). Since 2001, the band has worked to hone its intense sound that is at once hollow and full of life, jolting all the senses in an audio experience that is nearly three-dimensional. To see APTBS live is undeniably overwhelming and highly recommended. With that, dig into the new track from their brand new album Worship, out soon on Dead Oceans Records and consider digging into their all-consuming sound, live. The band plays Chicago’s Empty Bottle in July.
