The Queen of Rock and First Lady of Rockabilly, the one and only Wanda Jackson, will make a return appearance to Milwaukee at the Turner Hall Ballroom tonight, and for a 74-year old, she’ll still be putting on one of the most vivacious and jumpin’ shows of the year. Go, Wanda, go! Her forthcoming album, Unfinished Business — produced by Justin Townes Earle — is slated for an October release and if it’s anything like 2011’s The Party Ain’t Over (with which Jackson enlisted the help of Jack White), we expect Jackson to be acquiring even more titles and accolades in her famed genres. Get a glimpse of the legend in her youth as she performs “Sparklin’ Brown Eyes” in the clip, below and tune into WMSE today at 2 p.m. for an acoustic in-studio performance with Canadian Daniel Romano [New West/Normaltown Records], Jackson’s official show-opener (and backing band!) for tonight. Romano’s Come Cry With Me (set for a January, 2013 release date) is lovely, heart-on-sleeve country at it’s best.
