Milwaukee’s Cousins are: J. Wyatt (guitar and voice), Daniel (guitar), G. Bernard, (drums) and Vincent (bass). These musical cousins create the sort of sound that massages one’s eardrums with a neverending coil of reverb-y distortion, Wyatt’s droning, ghost-like incantations seeking out light from the depths of gnarly bass lines and frantic drumming. With a new ‘cassingle’ [“St(Utter)” / “Aokigahara”] available for the download (follow the link), one can get a bit of an idea of what to expect from the band’s forthcoming debut LP, on which they’ve recently wrapped up recording as well as their live performance, of which they have one this very weekend. The band plays with Milwaukee’s Brief Candles and WMSE’s own DJ Erik Void as they open for Austin’s Ringo Deathstarr at the Riverwest Public House (815 E. Locust) this Friday. Snag the cassingle and listen in on WMSE today at 1:30 p.m. CST as the band talks about their new LP and their upcoming show this weekend.
