Today in the WMSE Studios: Fatty Acids, Sat. Nite Duets and Oberhofer

Pop music is a alive and well on WMSE today, for we have a triple-attack of some of the best Milwaukee has to offer as well as a little slice of Brooklyn-style sounds. Bask in the sunny glow starting at 1 p.m. when Milwaukee’s Sat. Nite Duets and Fatty Acids stop by WMSE’s Local Lunchbox segment today to talk about the new split 7″ (Torrential Zen) they will be releasing together with two Brooklyn-based bands, Dinosaur Feathers and Radical Dads. Catch your own copy of Torrential Zen (as well as the two Milwaukee bands) at Linneman’s this Saturday, November 10th. The lineup also includes Surgeons in Heat and La Kaza.

Stay tuned, for at 2 p.m., an acoustic in-studio with Oberhofer will be going down — the band is in town to play The Rave/Eagles Ballroom tonight, opening for Matt & Kim. Oberhofer’s most recent release, Time Capsules II, is full of classic pop sentiments, but has plenty of room for stretching its musical legs. Consequence Of Sound calls it “a confident and promising debut”. The five-piece recently performed on Austin City Limits and are wrapping up their tour with Matt & Kim within the week. Today on WMSE, they’ll be playing a couple stripped-down songs before they amp things up later tonight at The Rave.

Find all this at 91.7 FM on your radio dial or stream live or in the archives over at WMSE.org.
