Today in the WMSE Studios: Patrick Watson

Patrick Watson seems a traveler by nature even though his latest album’s title (Adventures In Your Own Backyard) might suggest otherwise — the Canadian has toured (and toured) for the album, circling his country, the U.S. and beyond. He performed for a Milwaukee crowd last June at the Pabst Theater and is back again tonight, this time for a stint at Turner Hall Ballroom. Watson and his band are undoubtedly a popular live act and rightly so — their sweeping chamber pop is full of life, a magical air lending a cinematic quality that many bands simply dream of possessing. Today, Watson and co. bring a little bit of their magic to WMSE for a live, in-studio performance at 2 p.m. CST. Tune in and listen to a few stripped-down songs, live, before they get the full-band treatment tonight at Turner. 91.7 FM on your radio dial or WMSE.org to stream live or in the archives.

Patrick Watson performs at Turner Hall Ballroom tonight at 8pm with Alpha Consumer.
