What We’re Sponsoring This Week: Yo La Tengo at Turner Hall Ballroom

Because Yo La Tengo so infrequently visits Milwaukee (and more frequently releases albums), we’re encouraging you to give thought to attending their performance at the Turner Hall Ballroom this Saturday. 2007’s performance at Pier Wisconsin seems much like their newest album’s title (a nice, but fuzzy memory). Fade, the new Matador Records release, is getting them some nice pats on the back and it’s their first with Tortoise’s John McEntire at the producer steering wheel; combined old familiarity with a little edge. And what’s nice in those familiar YLT jamouts is that they remain sweet and fuzzy, but always capable of boiling over the solid surfaces they create — even with nearly thirty years down the road.
