Tonight on Local/Live: Maidens

Inspired by relationships and interactions between man, civilization, and the natural world, Maidens has been determined to organize themes of destruction, renewal, and growth into cohesive musical movements. Forming as a four-piece in 2008, the band wrote and released their debut EP, Failures, in 2010; a progressive and experimental production focused on melodic intricacies and expressive rhythms. The following year, Maidens hit the studio and recorded their second EP, Shallows. With their sophmore release, Maidens developed a more mature and focused, organic sound with elements of hardcore, metal, and shoegaze. In early 2013, the band completed work on its first full-length, Eve of Absolution, with engineer Shane Hochstetler of Howl Street Recordings (Call Me Lightning, Zebras, Northless, Enabler, Get Rad) which will be unleashed in April on tape via Error Records and on self-released vinyl.

Tune into WMSE’s Local/Live tonight at 8pm to listen to Maidens, live — to stream live or in the archives or simply tune your radio into 91.7 FM in Milwaukee.
