What We’re Sponsoring Today: STRFKR at Turner Hall Ballroom

With a name that often threatens to overshadow the band’s music, itself, STRFKR luckily hasn’t let that happen, its savvy and groovy beats a dancefloor able to delight in a very modern way and push the tunes to the forefront like a nice little dopamine zap. Starting out as a solo project for Josh Hodges, the Portland, Oregon project quickly morphed into a full-fledged outfit, becoming a literal dancing/touring machine. Tonight, they visit Milwaukee’s Turner Hall Ballroom with tourmates, Blackbird Blackbird.

Watch the video (below) for “Atlantis” from the new album Miracle Mile out on Polyvinyl Records, now. “This is an old song that has gone through many versions,” Hodges told Rolling Stone, recently. “It was actually written for a small Portland label comp that never came out, so we revamped it and used it on the album. It fit in well with the end-of-the-world theme on Miracle Mile.”
