A Trip to Bandcamp With: adoptahighway

Milwaukee, meet adoptahighway (Barry Paul Clark). If you Google ‘adoptahighway’, most likely you’ll be directed straight to road-related links instead of info on the electronic musician-magician from Milwaukee, so click that hyperlink to head directly to adoptahighway’s Facebook page, OR click the above cover image from his latest 7″ to go to the Bandcamp site where you can not only listen, but scoop it up. “Black Umbrella Be Inside” b/w “Permanence Here” was released very recently and is a nice testament to Clark’s composer skills and deep experience as a former classical music student and current electronic and musical gadget pro. Combining crisp percussion, driving instruments that chime and weave melody behind Clark’s shouted vocals, both tracks are a nice dive into sounds that are very Spring-like in their icy warmth. The little wiggle of a creepy organ line in the background of “Permanence Here”? A bit of a promising peek of that soon-to-be-more-present sun, in of itself.
