Hardly Art Records is pretty notorious for their roster of fun, punk-y and bubblegum-leaning pop (Colleen Green, Hunx & His Punx, La Sera) and one of the most fun of the bunch is Oakland, California’s Shannon and the Clams. The three-piece brings a dirty pop oomph a la Detroit Cobras (but way less druggy and way more original). New album, Dreams In the Rat House, is full of sparkle and singer switch-ups. Fans of both the sweet soulstress Kelly Hogan and the gritty Detroit Cobras will find a lot to love and then some with their live shows sealing the deal: costumes, belted vocals and danceability all come into the limelight for an ultimately fun experience.

The band plays the Cactus Club tonight at 9pm for a show with Pow Wow and Sex Forecast. 21+
