Tonight on Local/Live: Old Earth

“Experimental folk rock kicked upstairs by golden oldies and punk”…Old Earth is a Milwaukee-based project by songwriter Todd Umhoefer, with recorded and live appearances by members of Field Report and Altos. Looped and layered guitars, sparse poetry sung over dreamlike atmospheres, and interwoven songs blend together into dramatic musical movements.

Scottish label mini50 Records released the album Small Hours in April, preceded by 2012’s a low place at The Old Place, which were both self-recorded and self-produced. October will bring a new EP, All Kill, engineered by Brendan Benham at the storied Tannery studio. Tune into WMSE’s Local/Live to get a listen to the new material tonight at 8pm — or 91.7 FM on your radio dial.
